Summary -

I did a 3 month contract here and found the staff and management to be very welcoming and supportive from day one. Everyone I worked with was kind and helpful, even though it was clear some of the team was feeling the effects of burnout due to the workload.

This is a busy Level II trauma center, and the pace is heavy—most days felt nonstop. While the 12-hour shifts were a plus, they can be exhausting given how physically demanding the work is. The department is very OR-heavy, with frequent O-arm cases, so being comfortable in the surgical environment is important!

At the time of my assignment, the hospital was using Cerner (or something like that) and transitioning to Epic. The patient paperwork and workflow felt more tedious and inefficient than necessary, though it seemed tied to the system changes happening at the time and might be a little better now.

One nice perk is the location—the hospital sits right next to the Football Hall of Fame, which was a fun bonus. Overall, this is a place with great people and solid leadership, but travelers should be prepared to work hard. If you enjoy fast-paced environments, heavy OR work, and 12-hour shifts, this could be a good fit.
