Summary -
I worked at Sierra Vista Medical Center in 2021 and absolutely loved this contract. At the time, the hospital had previously been under Tenet Healthcare, but regardless of ownership, the staff, management, and overall work environment were excellent.
I worked 3×12 shifts, which allowed for plenty of days off to truly enjoy the area — and honestly, San Luis Obispo alone makes this contract worth taking. Between the beaches, nearby national parks, and the ability to drive up the coast toward Big Sur, the location is hard to beat. If it weren’t for the high cost of living, this is a place I could easily call home.
From a work standpoint, workflow was smooth and well-organized, management was supportive, and the staff was welcoming and easy to work with. The department felt efficient without being overwhelming, which made for a great overall experience. I enjoyed the assignment enough that I extended multiple times, which says a lot.
This was one of those contracts that checked both boxes — great work environment and an incredible location. I would absolutely take this assignment again and hope things haven’t changed much since my time there.
