Summary -
I worked as a permanent technologist at St. V’s from 2015–2018. It’s a large Level I trauma and teaching hospital, and at the time, it was one of the better trauma facilities I’ve worked in. That said, it is a very busy environment with a consistently heavy workload.
The OR is extremely active, so strong C-arm and O-arm skills are important, and prior trauma experience is a big plus—you’ll see a wide variety of cases here. While the pace can be demanding, it’s a great place to gain solid trauma and OR experience.
Although this was about a decade ago and I’m sure things have evolved since then, I had a positive experience with both the staff and management during my time there. Overall, it was a good place to work and a strong environment for building trauma experience.
